Suzi Eszterhas, founder of Girls Who Click, is an award-winning wildlife photographer best known for her work documenting newborn animals and family life in the wild. Her photographs have been published in over 100 magazine cover and feature stories in publications such as TIME, Smithsonian, BBC Wildlife, GEO, Popular Photography, Ranger Rick, and National Geographic Kids.
This workshop is on September 14th, 2024 at from 10:AM-5:15PM PST in Monterey, CA and in partnership with Elkhorn Slough Safari Nature Boat Tours, Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve and Suzi Eszterhas.
You will have the opportunity to participate in a photography lesson led by Suzi, followed by a private boat charter in the Elkhorn Slough, where you’ll have the chance to photograph sea otters, seals, sea lions, and birds. Participants are asked to bring a packed lunch and a camera or smartphone.
The Palomar College Television (PCTV) studio in San Diego is producing a 30-minute documentary about Suzi Eszterhas that will feature the “Girls Who Click” organization she founded. The film will highlight the many adventures and challenges Suzi has experienced in the male dominated field of Wildlife Photography. The film will likely be shown on PBS, screened at film festivals throughout the country, and used by college photography students. They would like to record the workshop on September 14th and will need the release signed from all participants.
Day of details, a recommended pack list and the PCTV release will be sent out via email once participants have been accepted into the workshop.
This workshop is for girls and female-identified or non-binary youth ages 13-18. We do make age exceptions for motivated students. This workshop is free.
