Videographer – Sara Matasick

Wildlife camerawoman Sara Matasick has worked on documentary productions around the world, filming wildlife and people on land and sea, while home is in Seattle, Washington. She films mostly long-lens, drone and sync actuality, and is also a deep sea video engineer filming with ROVs. Sara has a BSc in wildlife ecology and a MA in wildlife filmmaking. Her mix of studies and experiences over the years helps her pick up on animal behavior and emerging stories in the field. She loves sharing stories that cross human and wildlife interactions so people can understand how our world is interconnected.

Sara’s work can be seen on National Geographic, Disney+, and PBS. Some examples include “Secrets of the Penguins” for Nat Geo/Disney+, “In Her Nature” for PBS, and the upcoming series “The Biggest Little Farm: The Series” for Nat Geo. Her work as a shipboard video engineer can be seen on Nautilus Live. Sara is a mentee in the 2025 class of the American Society of Cinematographer Vision Mentorship Program. She is excited to work with Girls Who Click and help aspiring camerawomen find their strengths and grow, and believes we can all lift as we climb.
