Valerie Cornet

Valerie Cornet is a marine biologist, wildlife photographer, and
science communicator with a passion for connecting people to the ocean through storytelling. She completed her PhD on coral bleaching and has
contributed to conservation initiatives across Australia and Indonesia, including coral reef research and monitoring, restoration projects, and elasmobranch research. Valerie’s photography spans both wide-angle and macro, celebrating everything from sharks and rays to the tiny, overlooked species that make reefs thrive. A naturalist at heart, she uses imagery to spark curiosity, shift perceptions, and inspire people, whether they are first-time ocean explorers or seasoned divers.
