Advisory Board. Miriam Stein-Battles has over fifteen years of experience as a conservation photo editor, specializing in nature, wildlife and marine projects.
Her work on magazines, books and websites for nonprofits such as National Geographic Society, Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy and Ocean Geographic Society has won multiple awards.
Having always loved children, Miriam loved photo editing a children’s magazine for two years and working on over a dozen children’s books. She enjoys mentoring and feels strongly that young women need extra encouragement in today’s society.
Miriam is a founding affiliate to the International League of Conservation Photographers and an administrator to Deep Hope. She’s a member of numerous professional associations and an accomplished photographer in her own right. Her photography has been used by National Geographic, The Nature Conservancy and displayed at the Museum of the City of New York.
She started adopting whales at eight years-old and rescues orphan kittens as a hobby, only because it’s logistically difficult to raise orphan whales.
