Maureen Gathoni

Maureen Gathoni (she/her) is a dedicated conservation photographer from Kenya. Her work entails documenting conservation issues and efforts with the aim to raise awareness and inspire action towards conservation. Maureen’s aspiration comes from her mother who was the first female ranger in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya and is inspired to document heroes like her mother who are driving change in conservation.

She has photographed chimpanzee research in Uganda, wildlife veterinarians in the field, female rangers, and the work surrounding the recovery of the critically endangered Northern White Rhino. Her passion for wildlife conservation, led her and her mother being featured in the Global Gala for Rhinos 2021, a worldwide fundraising initiative supporting rhino conservation.
