Chelsea Mayer (She/Her) grew up in Huntington Beach, California, and attended UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. For several years, she worked on whale watching boats in southern California as a wildlife photographer. After earning her captain’s license and divemaster certification, she began work on a liveaboard boat specializing in scuba diving trips in the Channel Islands and great white shark cage diving at Guadalupe Island. In 2022 she joined National Geographic Partner Lindblad Expeditions as a certified photo instructor, captain and naturalist. When she’s not on expedition or doing photography projects, Chelsea is a dive supervisor, camera assistant and safety diver on natural history film productions.
