Field Conversations: Filming Wildlife and People Virtual Workshop with Sara Matasick

We work hard to photograph and film beautiful wildlife, but so often the ones who lead us into a story are the people being affected or those human who are doing the hard work. This virtual workshop will go over how to approach tying in the human element with the wildlife stories we tell, from interviews to expeditions, and will touch on ethics, establishing relationships, and filming choices.

Sara Matasick is a wildlife camerawoman who has worked on documentary productions around the world, filming wildlife and people on land and sea, while home is in Seattle, Washington. She films mostly long-lens, drone and sync actuality, and is also a deep sea video engineer filming with ROVs. Sara has a BSc in wildlife ecology and a MA in wildlife filmmaking.
