Jasmine Nonhlanhla Lesejane, a Media Studies Undergraduate from a small village in Botswana, discovered her career path in film, photography, and storytelling at the Botswana Wildlife Film School.
She was profoundly inspired by the psychological impact cinematography can have, using theory and manipulated shots to push for change. Recognizing the rarity of women, especially in the “heavy” conditions of wildlife filmmaking, she was strongly motivated to defy this and make history.
Jasmine is actively building her network and skills, having served as a delegate for the Wildscreen Festival in 2025 physically in Botswana and the Wildscreen Industry Summit online as well as joining the Wildlife Camerawoman Community online group. She dedicates herself to creating short wildlife documentaries and photographs, striving to become a great role model for young girls .
