Jemma Paradise is an underwater photographer and ocean storyteller from Southern California. After studying Global Environmental Politics and Journalism at UC Berkeley, she worked as a dive professional on Catalina Island and fell in love with photographing local kelp forests and marine life. Moving forward, she is deeply passionate about documenting California’s kelp ecosystems and the conservation challenges they face. She is also the 2025 OWUSS Paul Schutt Underwater Photography Intern and, for her capstone assignment, is currently based at the Maldives Underwater Initiative, to photograph their marine research and cutting-edge conservation stories.”
