Chelsea Mayer is a photographer who grew up in Huntington Beach, California. She attended the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and earned her BA in Film Production and Directing.
Setting her sights on the outdoors, Chelsea began working on whale watching boats in Newport Beach as a photographer and deckhand. From there she became a divemaster on a liveaboard boat, scuba diving in the Channel Islands and great white shark cage diving at Guadalupe Island.
Currently she works as a photography instructor and guide for National Geographic Lindblad Expeditions. When she isn’t on expedition, Chelsea is a camera assistant and safety diver on natural history film shoots, in addition to her freelance work as an outdoor lifestyle and conservation photographer.
