Jaymi Heimbuch

Jaymi Heimbuch has always had a profound interest in wildlife and the natural world. As a wildlife conservation photographer, writer, and naturalist, Jaymi’s goal is always to tell stories that engage viewers, opening them up to new perspectives or inspiring them to act.

And as a passionate instructor of conservation photography, she is driven to help other photographers find their voice and style, and get their images out into the world.

Jaymi is the founder of Conservation Photography Courses, an online education platform; and Wild Idea Lab, a membership community for conservation visual storytellers.

Her work has been published in National Geographic Books, Sierra Magazine, Audubon Magazine, National Wildlife Magazine, Heyday Books, Mother Nature Network and Discovery Communications websites among other outlets. Her environmental, wildlife and companion animal writing has been published in a wide variety of print and online publications, including bioGraphic, Sierra Club’s Green Life Blog, and a cover feature in BBC Wildlife Magazine.

Jaymi is the founder and director of Urban Coyote Initiative, a media company that focuses on advancing science communication around urban coyotes and other wildlife, and she loves spending the spring, summer and fall months leading tours on the Oregon coast under her company, Oregon Coast Photo Tours.
